The Simpson’s Treehouse of Horror XXIV
It’s not actually Halloween or even after Halloween as is usually the case and The Simpson’s have already broadcast their annual Treehouse of Horror. And it didn’t suck as bad as usual!
My interest in The Simpson’s waned about a decade ago, but I still tune in just to see the Halloween episodes. Personally, I think the show’s been on the decline for years and they’re just phoning in the episodes. The Treehouse of Horror episodes haven’t been any different with the last 4 being especially bad. But, the latest outing wasn’t actually that bad.
While the Fat in the Hat spoof wasn’t bad with a few funny moments. Bart having head sewn onto Lisa made for a couple of laughs , but the circus episode was a little flat. Like I said the benchmark from the previous years is pretty low, so there’s really nowhere to go but up. I mean, they can’t get any worse.
But these new stories don’t hold a candle to the first few seasons. James Earl Jones reading The Raven is a classic. And Pierce Brosnan as the house that wants Marge is good stuff.
Still, I think the Phineas and Ferb Halloween special was better.

Happy Halloween Everyone! This is the busiest day of the year for both me and the site. Thousands will pass through while I diligently carve away at the pumpkins. The candy will be put out, the decorations all put in place, the lights and the music set into motion. It’s going to be a beauty of night. Once darkness comes the fun will begin! There will be chills, screams and perhaps even a little fire. I hope you all have a fantastic night!
And since it is All Hallows’ Eve, I want to take just a sec and thank Ryan Wickstrand of Zombie Pumpkins for the fantastic templates he makes. I’ve been visiting that site for 5 years and he never ceases to impress.
I want to thank you all for a wonderful time this year. I absolutely love playing around with this site and hope you get some bit of enjoyment out of it too.

Ghost Hunters Live Halloween Special at Pennhurst State School and Hospital
For those that are interested the Ghost Hunters team will do a Live investigation of the Pennhurst State School and Hospital on October 31st at 7pm EST.
Special guests include Ghost Hunters International team members: Barry Fitzgerald, Kris Willams and Joe Chin. As well as Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files investigators: Ben Hansen, Jael De Pardo, Devin Marble.
The Ghost Adventures Crew went there in 2009 and the Pennhurst episode was the kickoff to their new season. The evidence came across as a little light to me, but they didn’t get to dedicate nearly the amount of time the place deserves. I also think they barely scratched the surface when it comes to covering the grounds. You can read all about that episode and the location here: Pennhurst State School and Hospital
Let’s not forget that Josh Gates will be hosting this episode and he does a fantastic job. Hopefully this is actually a live investigation and not just a recording of a live event.
